COMING SOON AT ROTHKO MUSEUM Forthcoming opening of exhibition "Umberto Mastroianni: Chromatic Abstraction (1934-1992)", curated by V. Noel-Johnson, in collaboration with Centro Studi dell'Opera di Umberto Mastroianni, at the Rothko Museum, Daugavpils, Latvia. Organised by Il Cigno, Rome. The exhibition and accompanying catalogue will feature 40 artworks by the Italian 20th century sculptor and artist Mastroianni. Opens 11th September 2026	Inspired by our exhibition "Kay Sage - Yves Tanguy: Ring of Iron, Ring of Wool" (curated by V. Noel-Johnson, Helly Nahmad Gallery, New York, 2023), we are honoured that the Japanese newspaper NIKKEI Asia, which covers Japan, China, India and Southeast Asia, has just published an extensive article about the merits of Kay Sage's work on 5th July 2026. "Curating 'Giorgio de Chirico' as a Legacy" Università Tor Vergata, Rome, 17 April 2026 As part of the PhD course on 'Curatorial practices in Contemporary Art", I gave a lecture on my curatorial work over the years with a focus on exhibitions featuring Giorgio de Chirico as a way of actively contributing to and developing his legacy for a modern-day audience.	Wonderful evening discussing the greatness of Dali and his rapport with the Old Masters, with a deep-dive into the pivotal years of 1925 and 1926. RECENT LECTURE: "Curating 'Giorgio de Chirico' as a Legacy" Università Tor Vergata, Rome, 16 May 2025 As part of the PhD course on "Curatorial practices in Contemporary Art", I have been invited to lecture on my curatorial work involving Giorgio de Chirico, as well as the reconstruction of European art collections and historic exhibitions.	OUT NOW It's been a long time in the making, but the film "Lee" has recently been released in Italy. Starring Kate Winslet as Lee Miller, with a masterful performance, the film focuses on Lee Miller's involvement as a war correspondent for "Vogue" during the World War II. Lee Miller's courage and humanity when confronted with the unimaginable is profoundly inspirational. The film is extraordinary on every level: a triumph in the face of adversity.
RECORD VISITOR ATTENDANCE IN TURIN Having welcomed nearly 42,000 visitors in 100 days, the exhibition "Giorgio de Chirico: 1924" (8 November 2024 - 2 March 2025) ranks as one of the most successful shows ever held at Turin's Museo Accorsi-Ometto. We are collectively delighted at the show's critical and public success and extend our sincerest thanks to everyone involved in the project.	NEW EXHIBITION: On occasion of the centenary of Surrealism with the publication of Breton's first Manifesto (Oct 1924), the exhibition "Giorgio de Chirico: 1924" (curated by V. Noel-Johnson, Museo di Arti Decorative, Fondazione Accorsi-Ometto, Turin, 8 November 2024 - 2 March 2025) will exhibit over 50 works by de Chirico dated 1921-1928, in an attempt to revise his parallel relationship with the Surrealists. SURREALISM CONFERENCE (PEGGY GUGGENHEIM COLLECTION, VENICE) 17-18 October 2024 I am honoured to participate in the 2-day conference "Italy is more Surrealist than the Pope" on occasion of the Surrealist centenary (2024) organised by the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Università Ca' Foscari, Venice, with a lecture that explores the collection of de Chirico works owned by the Surrealists and the commercial interests involved. Honoured to have partecipated in the "Modigliani" symposium held at Museum Barberini, Potsdam, 26 October 2022 (in preparation of the forthcoming exhibition to be held there in Autumn 2023) with a lecture on Modigliani's role with Italy and the Italian avant-garde.	Opening soon! The first exhibition to be dedicated to Miro' in Belgium since 1956. Consisting of over 100 works, this show curated by V. Noel-Johnson focuses on Miro's traditional artistic formation and how his artwork dialogues with the art of the past and present. English/Italian edition, Skira, Milan. April 2022.	Recent opening of the photographic exhibition "Fulvio Roiter: High-Rise New York", curated by V. Noel-Johnson in collaboration with Fondazione Fulvio Roiter. Organised to mark the 20th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the show consists of a selection of extraordinary photos of New York taken by the internationally-renowned Venetian photographer Roiter shortly before the Twin Towers attack. Just opened: "de Chirico - Ventrone" (curated by V. Sgarbi and V. Noel-Johnson, 14 June - 4 November 2021, Erice, Sicily). This exhibition explores points of contact present in Giorgio de Chirico's metaphysical still lives and contemporary artist Luciano Ventrone's hyper-realistic still life works.
