AT ROTHKO MUSEUM
Forthcoming opening of exhibition "Umberto Mastroianni: Chromatic Abstraction (1934-1992)", curated by V. Noel-Johnson, in collaboration with Centro Studi dell'Opera di Umberto Mastroianni, at the Rothko Museum, Daugavpils, Latvia. Organised by Il Cigno, Rome.
The exhibition and accompanying catalogue will feature 40 artworks by the Italian 20th century sculptor and artist Mastroianni.
Opens 11th September 2026 |  Inspired by our exhibition "Kay Sage - Yves Tanguy: Ring of Iron, Ring of Wool" (curated by V. Noel-Johnson, Helly Nahmad Gallery, New York, 2023), we are honoured that the Japanese newspaper NIKKEI Asia, which covers Japan, China, India and Southeast Asia, has just published an extensive article about the merits of Kay Sage's work on 5th July 2026. Sincere thanks to art critic Manami Fujimori for her in-depth research and for shining a light on Sage's work.

"Kay Sage and Yves Tanguy: Ring of Iron, Ring of Wool", curated by V. Noel-Johnson, Helly Nahmad Gallery, New York, 9 May - 29 July 2023.
Featuring over 60 works lent by prestigious museums, institutions and private collections, the show explores the creative osmosis that took place in the work of Sage (1898-1963) and Tanguy (1900-1955), two eminent Surrealist artists who married in 1940.

Featuring 140 photographs and artworks by Lee Miller and Man Ray, the exhibition seeks to re-explore Miller's and Ray's professional and personal relationship between 1929-1932, which gave rise to one of the most extraordinary artistic rapports of the early 20th century.
